A leading shipping service company based in Greece and division of a global shipbroking group specialising in sale and purchase of vessels, dry cargo chartering and full-cycle project management. The group established Sigma Management Ltd in Greece as part of its expansion efforts aiming to benefit from the country’s strategic geographical location, being a major hub in the global shipping industry.
We were appointed to help establish the new division in Greece by refining and finalising their preliminary logo and brand identity and creating a corporate website outlining their range of shipping services.
We opted to keep the division’s existing logomark depicting a geometric representation of a ship’s steering wheel but improved legibility and scalability through contrast and alignment improvements. We chose dark blue and turquoise as the core brand colours to represent the cool tones of the sea and balanced the rich saturation with clean, pure-white backgrounds, typography, and UI elements.
As the client specifically requested a one-page website, we placed a greater emphasis on micro-interactions and animations to enhance the overall experience and to encourage visitors to scroll down to the call-to-action contact form. We kept the navigation bar clean and simple using only the logotype as the home link and decided to use the logomark as a playful animated graphic element incorporated with interesting variations throughout the site.
The project was successful in establishing a contemporary identity and digital presence for the division and the website was highly praised by the group’s executives and other senior industry associates. The platform was also successful in securing a new and regular stream of enquiries for shipbroking services in Greece, facilitating the growth of the regional team.
